Van gaal and his boys go out on a high. As for Brazil a lot of rebuilding to be done.

Van Gaal and his boy massively overachieved beating Spain 5-1 in my eyes putting a massive dent in tiki taka maybe even ending it for good. Holland showed tactical discipline, tactical flexibility heart, desire which most is down to the coaches preparation and tactical acumen.

As for Brazil the least said about them the better all the hype all the pressure on them and they just couldn't handle it i did say it this article how i think Brazil would do and i was right they simply weren't good enough but that still doesn't excuse a 7-1 loss  or a 3-0 loss at these stages in the competition. No organization, no skill and heavy reliance on a 22 year old.

Quick review of 3rd place play off

Holland were going into this match feeling very disappointing about their loss to Argentina losing on penalties must be hard especially when your that close to the final, Brazil on the other hand probably looked at this match as a chance of redemption  something to smile about. Brazil have lacked tactical discipline this world cup they lack structure and when your not the best team technically you have to be more organized defensively but they just weren't and time and time again Holland were able to get through the gaps left by the marauding full backs simple mistakes cost them like when David Luiz had a simple defensive header to just head over the bar he headed it straight to the danger area and Danny Blind slotted it in.

What does this mean for Holland?

Holland individually are nothing special apart from the obvious Van Persie and Robben very similar situation to Brazil. What they did do which Brazil didn't was organize themselves without the ball and with the ball very simple. They then had tactical flexibility changing from 3-5-2 to 3-4-3 or even back to their historic 4-3-3.
Sometimes they lacked that killer pass in midfield and up front they weren't the best we've seen from Holland over the years maybe we could have seen Huntlaar get more games.  Holland will be taken over by Guus Hiddink now that Van Gaal is going to Manchester United and i think thats a superb move by Holland as Hiddink works in a similar may to Van Gaal. Is this the peak for Holland ? can they get better?  or Do they need to produce a few more top players?

What does this mean for Brazil?

Brazil have been very disappointing this tournament with the 7-1 loss to Germany standing out. It is very obvious they lack creativity in the midfield and skillful tricky wingers of the past which means they are heavily reliant on Neymar going forward  their only true world class player. Its blatantly obvious they need a goalscorer have to rely on Fred and Jo they don't score enough goals and lack any sort of creativity to be able to link with the midfield. For me the disappointing thing has been Scolari in my opinion is a very overrated manager but that's for another article. Scolari lacked the ability to organize them defensively if you don't score enough goals as a team then you obviously cant concede much either basic common sense. In my and in many other peoples opinion Scolari has to go then they can build for future then we can go back to the days of Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho  because that country is full of footballing talent.
