Belgium through but USA fight till the end.

After a grueling 120 minutes of football Belgium come out deserved winners when taking into consideration chance creation ,possession and general all round play. You just start to wonder how far belgium can go in this tournament all of us knew the star names Kompany, hazard ,and Lukaku to name a few but how well would they gel as a team.

A surprising first start for Origi in this world cup had peoples heads shaking but this kid proved hes up to the pace of this world cup with a brilliant performance pace; intelligent runs and link up play the only thing that needs improving drastically is his finishing ability which in truth is what stopped Belgium winning this game in 90 minutes.

The game was generally open but Belgium controlled it for the most part they struggled to get past a well drilled USA defense and fantastic performer on the night Tim Howard. Time and time again belgium would do well to create chances but lack that finishing quality to put the ball past Howard.

Two great substitutes by the manager Miralles who came on for Mertens and later in extra time Lukaku came on for Origi. For me Miralles was fantastic with his dribbling ability which created numerous chances which the tired USA defense struggled with. Finally in this tournament the big man Romelu Lukaku steps up YES you may argue it was against a tired USA defense but give the guy credit and his manager Wilmots Lukaku changed the game with his raw pace and power.

Belgium vs USA, Kevin De Bruyne, World Cup 2014

De bruyne added to this with great composure in the box to finish home nicely 2-0 at that point. USA did not stop there they added pressure to get a goal and on the 107 minute a great run by Green of the USA was met by a great pass and on the volley into the back of the net .... but unfortunately for the USA this was not enough but they gave their all and fought hard till the end. Great game to what a has been a incredible world cup so far.
